Brunel Language Centre Windsor Castle Day Trip (Friday 5th May 2017)
Fri 5 May 2017, 09:30 – 17:00 EDT
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years. It is an official residence of Her Majesty The Queen, whose standard flies from the Round Tower when she is in residence.
This is a free trip for currently enrolled Brunel Language Centre students, who are studying an English Language Course only.
We will travel by coach and will meet by the Eastern Gateway Building at 9.15am on Friday 5th May 2017, for a 9.30 departure. Please make sure that you bring your Student ID card with you.
Your trip includes free admission into Windsor Castle.
We expect to arrive in Windsor by 10am, where we will walk up and visit the castle. We will also watch the changing of the guard at 11am. Windsor is still very much a working royal palace. The Castle is used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions. It is here that The Queen often hosts State Visits from overseas monarchs and presidents. St George’s Hall makes a spectacular setting for a State Banquet, when a single table, stretching the length of the hall and seating 160 people, is decorated with porcelain, and silver-gilt from the Royal Collection.
After viewing the castle, you will then have free time to have lunch and enjoy shopping.
At the end of the day, we will meet back where the coach dropped us at 4.00pm for a 4.15pm departure, to take the coach back to Brunel University.
Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
If you sign up to this trip and do not attend (without notifying us at least 48 hours in advance), there will be a cancellation fee.
