Victorian Rotherhithe takes you back to 1843 and Rotherhithe Garden City walk will explore Southwark Park.
About this event
Drawing on the richness of the museum’s location and local history we are exploring and extending our core Brunel stories, which link to the museum as a cultural & social hub for the Rotherhithe community.
We are revisiting some well-loved topics for our family / bubble group walks and adding new tours. The Victorian Rotherhithe walk will take you on a trip back to 1843 when Rotherhithe was a lively village with workhouses, docks, shipbuilders, and families will hear about its residents, from mudlarks, to coal whippers, deal porters, and the Brunels of course!
The Rotherhithe Garden City walk will explore Southwark Park, one of the London’s green corridors that links the Thames with a network of quays & waterways, its origins and what it has witnessed – from women’s industrial action and plane crashes to mass demonstrations in support of temperance!
If you would like to reserve a tour for just your bubble, purchase all five available concession tickets, which will come to £60. This way you can ensure that you and yours get a private tour.
