Joelle Taylor is one of Britain's most socially-engaged and edgy spoken word poets. Her electric performances are renowned nationally and internationally. Born in Lancashire but a long time Londoner, she is a former UK Slam Champion. She also founded both SLAMbassadors UK and the Mother Foucault Spoken Word Cabaret. Her publications include poetry books and performance novels, and she has written plays and directed theatre. She has been featured many times on the radio and television, most recently on Channel 4's Educating the East End. She was awarded a Change Maker Prize for work that changes lives. Her writing is translated into several languages and her poetry is on the OCR English syllabus.
