Bruno Pacheco will discuss his work with writer Melissa Gronlund within his current exhibition head (red) hand at Hollybush Gardens.

Bruno Pacheco (b.1974, Lisbon, Portugal) lives and works in Lisbon and London. His recent solo exhibitions include Vaivém, Galeria Quadrum, Lisbon (2018); Cameo, Hollybush Gardens, London (2018); and Red was the Tone, Galeria Filomena Soares, Lisbon (2016). His work has been shown at museums and group exhibitions internationally, including Sharjah Biennial 14 (2019); Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (2017); Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon (2017); Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto; 31st Bienal de São Paulo (2014); and 3rd Beijing International Art Biennale (2008). His work is held in the collections of Kadist Art Foundation, Paris; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoben; Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto; Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon; and National Art Museum of China, Beijing, among others.

Melissa Gronlund is a writer. She is formerly the art correspondent for The National in Abu Dhabi, and authored Contemporary Art and Digital Culture (Routledge, 2016), which explores the relationship of contemporary art to the internet and digital technologies. From 2007–2014 she lectured on contemporary art at Oxford University, the Ruskin School of Drawing & Fine Art, and co-edited the journal Afterall, based in London. Her writing has appeared in Artforum, Art Agenda, e-flux journal, and The New Yorker.com, among other places, and she has written catalogue essays on many artists. Originally from New York City, she studied Comparative Literature at Princeton University, in New Jersey, and Film Aesthetics at Oxford University.
