Brusho Workshop with Carrie McKenzie
Sun 13 November 2016, 10:00 – 16:00 GMT
Learn how to create a striking painting using Brusho art tips and techniques. Although there are similarities to watercolour, Brusho has its own unique and delightful properties - it has been described as 'little pots of magic'. The paints are a very intense paint powder that dilute with water. Brilliant, bold and colourful, it's great for experimenting a little to create contemporary striking artwork. Fun, expressive and unpredictable, Brusho is colour-rich, exciting and ideal for recreating loose, impressistic paintings. It can be used in a very similar to watercolour, but it also has its own unique applications and interesting effects.
If you love paintings with vibrant colours you'll like Brusho. No experience necessary - whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist, come along and enjoy doing something creative and completely different.
Carrie will demonstrate how to use Brusho paints in a variety of ways to get different results, as well as giving one to one help throughout the day. This is very much a 'hands-on' workshop where you will learn more by doing than watching. Source materials will be provided for you. Carrie's teaching style is friendly and informal, suiting people of all levels from beginners to advanced. She recommends good quality paper such as Bockingford 140lb watercolour paper for use with Brusho, at least quarter imperial size. You could bring a few smaller pieces of paper just to practice on.
