Event description

Description

Keynote speakers:

  • Anthony Seldon - Vice-Chancellor of University of Buckingham, historian and political author
  • Robert Plomin - Psychologist and geneticist
  • Alex Beard - Senior Director at Teach for All and author
  • Claire Fox - Director of Institute of ideas and author

Now in its third year, the Bryanston Education Summit has quickly become an established fixture in the educational calendar. Big enough to attract a wide range of speakers, but small enough to remain intimate and accessible, the Summit is unlike any other school-focused event in the UK. Each year is themed to reflect the shifting priorities of teachers, and educationalists, as the academic year develops, and as sectors undergo far-reaching change.

Working again with our media partner, The TES, our theme this year is: ‘Revolution: the future of learning in a changing world’, and we have brought in speakers who are going to address some of the biggest issues facing teachers, parents and pupils today.

  • Anthony Seldon will be speaking about Artificial Intelligence and what it might mean to teaching
  • Robert Plomin will be discussing how the latest research in genetics could help us understand how pupils learn
  • Claire Fox will be exploring the rise of identity politics and the snowflake generation.
  • Alex Beard will be talking about what he's discovered about school systems during the writing of his acclaimed book, Natural Born Learners.

And with a special focus on numeracy and literacy:

  • Alex Quigley will be discussing how the bedrock of all learning - literacy - can be developed and the vocabulary gap bridged
  • Craig Barton will be assessing the best ways to improve how to teach maths.

There are many other speakers confirmed, including Alison Peacock, Jane Lunnon and Nick Rose, and each will be engaging in debate, through presentations, panels, and informal conversations, raising questions, seeking solutions, and sparking constructive disagreements.

Oh, and did we mention that for the price of your ticket you have a delicious lunch, plus tea and cake included?

For anyone working in education today Bryanston’s Education Summit is unmissable. Come with an open mind, and take part in a stimulating day of professional development.

More speakers will be added as they are confirmed.
