Description

How to book: Please use the green 'Register' button (above right) and select 'General Admission'. Your e-ticket will be emailed to you. Contact us at meetings@bsbi.org if you run into any problems.

Herbarium tours: There will be two behind-the-scenes tours of the NHM herbarium, led by Dr Fred Rumsey. If you would like to join a tour, please use the green 'Register' button (above right) and select 'Herbarium Tour'. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served, basis.

Exhibits: We welcome exhibits on any aspect of the British or Irish flora, especially from first-time exhibitors. You don’t have to be a BSBI member or an "expert botanist" to exhibit! Please download and complete the booking form on our website at http://bsbi.org/annual-exhibition-meeting and email it to us at meetings@bsbi.org.

Book-sellers: Summerfield Books will be present with a wide selection of books on botany/ natural history, including rare and second-hand books, many with reduced prices for BSBI members. A range of hand-lenses will also be available for sale.

Identification Help Table/John Poland’s Vegetative ID Table: please bring along any fresh or dried specimens you find difficult to identify and challenge some of the best botanists in the country!

Refreshments: Attendees can use the museum’s cafés and restaurants for refreshments or bring their own lunch.

Getting to the meeting: the nearest Underground station is South Kensington, on the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines. The nearest museum entrance for the Flett Theatre is on Exhibition Road.

For detailed instructions, please see the museum's website: http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit/getting-here.html

The Flett Theatre is on Floor 1 of the Red Zone.

Please note that it is NHM policy to search visitors' bags at the museum's entrance.

Photographs: Please note that we request permission to take photographs of botanists viewing the AEM exhibits for publicity purposes. Please let us know when you sign in if you do not wish to be included in any such photographs. We also encourage you to take photographs at the event and will set up a Dropbox folder where these can be shared.

Please email the AEM 2017 Meetings & Communications Organising Team (Jodey, Kylie and Louise) if you have any questions about this year’s AEM: meetings@bsbi.org
