Ken MacLeod is a multi-award winning author of Science Fiction. Beginning in 1995 with THE STAR FRACTION he has continued to produce outstanding series such as Fall Revolution, Engines of Light, Corporation Wars and most recently BEYOND THE HALLOWED SKY, the first in the new Lightspeed trilogy. He has also produced stand-alone novels such asNEWTON'S WAKE, INTRUSION, THE RESTORATION GAME and DESCENT. He has won the Prometheus Libertarian Award three times, the BSFA three times, and been nominated for a Nebula (once) and a Hugo (four times).

He will be talking to us about "Working in the Spaceship Yards" which is about how growing up in industrial Inverclyde inspired some of his early attempts at SF, how trying to be a proper scientist affected his late-start writing career, and how now he’s returned to live in post-industrial Inverclyde, he’s reimagined these early ideas in his current books.
