Event description

Description

Rationale for the meeting:

Deaf Action and those leading the Plans for NHS Lothian ( Chris Bruce) and the City of Edinburgh Council ( Heather Rolls) met to discuss the development of the local plans. In acknowledgement of limited resources, limited time and the potential for research fatigue across the deaf community it was felt it would be really useful and energising to collaborate and create opportunities for co-production and collaboration, while understanding that all listed organisations will create and submit their own plans.

Purpose of the session:

To plan a larger event (January 23rd or 24th ) for the East Coast and Borders area that will enable you to write your local plan.

This event will offer facilitation of a consultation that includes people who are deaf BSL users, families affected by deafness, and the BSL interpreting community.

This larger event is also intended to enable discussions on identifying areas where prioritisation and the pooling of funds may be beneficial, offering opportunities for real progress and improvement to happen at pace.

It is anticipated that the event will be live streamed for those unable to attend.
