Event description

Description

Join us for the first UK BSL Slam Poetry event, inspired by ASL Slam which started in 2005 in America. We hope to showcase the great many artists in the UK Deaf community who use BSL as their language and create a platform for them, and others to express themselves and to showcase the beauty of sign language.

We will have some social time for people to talk and get to know each other and the Slammers. Then the show with begin with an "Open Slam" session to get the energy going and allow anyone who wants to express themselves the opportunity to do so. Following a drinks break will be the main "Headline Slammers", who will be judged by you - the audience and a couple of special guest Judges! We are excited to then award the first ever BSL Slam Champion.

We are sure it will be a fun evening and look forward to the BSL Slam becoming a regular night within the Deaf community, both in London and across the UK.

Join our Facebook community at www.facebook.com/BSLSlam.

Please note attendance is strictly age 18+ and you will need produce ID on the door.
