BSMS Trauma Conference 2017

Emergency Medicine Society are proud to present the 2017 Trauma Conference.
This full day of activities consists of a morning of speakers from those with frontline experience of delivering high quality medical care in extremely diverse and challenging settings. Speakers include:
Professor Douglas Chamberlain - founder of the first paramedic unit in Europe
London's Air Ambulance Flight Doctor Dr Simon Walsh
The Royal Army Medical Corps
After a complementary lunch, the day resumes with a selection of practical workshops designed to give a hands on practical taster of how trauma patients are managed in different settings.
Workshops will include:
London Ambulance Service NHS Trust: Major Incidents & Triage Sieve
Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance: Traumatic Cardiac Arrest
Surgical Airways (Cricothyroidotomy)
BSMS Anaesthetics Society: Managing the airway in traumatic patients
The conference is aimed at medical, nursing and paramedic science students of all years and institutions. Qualified healthcare professionals or others with an interest in these areas of pre hospital and emergency medicine are also encouraged to attend.
