We are pleased to announce our Virtual Annual Conference 2021. This will be a series of lunchtime webinars showcasing the united efforts of behavioural science and public health towards COVID-19.
Tuesday 9th February 1-2.30pm: Showcasing case studies of behavioural science and public health responses to COVID-19
We will showcase four examples of behavioural science and public health responses to COVID-19 in this webinar. The four highest-scoring case studies that will be presented are:
COVID-19 Public Health Messaging Communications Research in the North East of England - Lisa Sutherland, Neil Caffrey & colleagues (Drummond Central and North East LA7 Communications Team)
How best to engage the general population in testing for COVID-19? - Daniella Watson & colleagues (University of Southampton)
ACTS and CABINS: Using behavioural insights to understand and improve self-isolation adherence among contacts of cases of COVID-19 in Wales - Dr Richard Kyle & Dr Kate Isherwood (Public Health Wales)
Advising policy makers and public health on behavioural science and COVID-19 disease prevention - Prof Angel Chater (University of Bedfordshire)
Wednesday 10th February 2-3pm: Instigating change for public health during COVID-19
We are thrilled to announce two speakers leading the response to the UK’s behavioural science and public health response to COVID-19. We will welcome Professor Susan Michie (University College London, Member of Independent SAGE) and Professor Jim McManus (Director of Public Health at Hertfordshire County Council, Chair of BSPHN). This event will be chaired by Dr Jeanelle de Gruchy, President of the Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH).
The BSPHN AGM will precede this event at 1-2pm.
Thursday 11th February 1-2pm: BSPHN Discussion 'Embedding behavioural science in public health during COVID-19: Successes and challenges'
Speakers: Greg Fell, Director of Public Health in Sheffield & Professor Maddy Arden, Sheffield Hallam University
Chaired by Professor Marie Johnston, University of Aberdeen
