About this event

Are you interested in creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace but unsure how to achieve this? Then come along to our Taster Session.

With the growing need for diversity and inclusion training for staff, Babbasa’s Bridging the Gap Taster Session helps you to recognise both personal and institutional bias, understand young and minority communities and develop the intercultural communication skills needed to develop an inclusive environment. With an oversight of the four modules we offer.


The training session will take place on the following dates:

The 90 minute session will take place online, a Google Meet link will be emailed to attendees on the week of the event.


The highly respected session is an overview of the four key modules of Babbasa's CPD training programme, and is delivered by Sangeetha Wynter, Training and Inclusion Manager for Babbasa alongside who has ‘lived’ experiences of working in an organisation as a minority and substantial experience of promoting diversity, inclusion and cultural competence.

You will gain insights of Babbasa’s deep cultural understanding of local and ethnically diverse communities; diversity and inclusion training and research; to help your business improve on diversity and inclusion.

The course is designed to help staff across all levels, including senior management and HR professionals.

We exist to inspire and support young people from ethnically diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds in Bristol to pursue their professional ambitions. Since incorporating in 2013, Babbasa has transformed the lives of over 2,200 young people. We have been honoured to receive several awards, including the Queen’s Award for outstanding achievement in promoting opportunities. However, problems persist, with Bristol being ranked the 7th worst of 348 districts in London and Wales for ethnic inequalities. The serious impact of the recent COVID-19 pandemic has also increased class inequality and racial tensions.

We believe that by working with you, we will close the employment gap. We will stop inequality. And together, we will build a Bristol that offers the same opportunities for everyone.
