Event description

Description

In 2017, Rinkoo Barpaga was awarded an Unlimited R&D Commission to research his story, Bubble and Butch. Bubble is profoundly Deaf, living in West Bromwich. Scared to leave his flat due to the bullying he has experienced in his local area, Bubble spends most of his day watching TV. A surprise visit by an old school friend finds Bubble lumbered with a bulldog called Butch. Watch as Bubble and Butch work out how they will live together for the next two weeks and how Butch will change Bubble’s life.

Rinkoo Barpaga has been researching the use of integrated film, projection and theatre as well as the roots of urban sign language (never before seen on a UK stage) to present a touching story of the transformative power of an unlikely friendship.

Please join Rinkoo Barpaga on 22nd March, as he shares his findings and a glimpse of a new form of theatre making.
Tickets are free, but must be booked by 16th March 2018.
