About this event
To mark the 161st Birth Anniversary of Anagarika Dharmapala, London Buddhist Vihara is celebrating Founder's Day on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September.
The Anagarika Dharmapala Memorial Lecture will be delivered at 4:30pm on Saturday 13th September at London Buddhist Vihara by IM Dharmadasa, Emeritus Professor of Applied Physics at Sheffield Hallam University.
Threats posed by Climate Change can seem overwhelming - rising temperatures, flooding, water scarcity, food shortages and the loss of biodiversity and ecosystems. What can Buddhism and science say today about meeting such immense challenges ?
Professor IM Dharmadasa is an eminent scientist working on clean energy for sustainable development, poverty reduction and climate action.
He will explore how Buddhist perspectives can guide us in safeguarding our environment for the well-being of future generations.
London Buddhist Vihara is the oldest Buddhist temple outside Asia and is in its centenary year.
