Overview

A train-the-trainer session to help Money Guiders confidently help their clients understand and take control of where their money is going.

Financial wellbeing is the sense of security and ease that comes with knowing you can pay your bills today, deal with the unexpected and that you’re on track for a healthy financial future.

Financial wellbeing matters because it’s hard to think clearly and make good decisions when you’re living under a cloud of money worries. Except… we’re continuing to live through a cost-of-living crisis and many people are struggling to keep up.

Do you know what helps? Talking it through and taking action. This is where Money Guiders excel at helping their clients.

January comes with a ‘fresh start’ effect – when people feel more motivated and excited at the start of something new, like the new year, birthdays, new term etcetera.

Let’s take advantage of January’s fresh start effect and brush up on our budgeting basics and new tools and ways of working so Money Guiders can confidently help their clients manage their money.

A budget is a simple, practical and powerful tool that can help people move from where they are now to where they want to be. This session is designed to help Money Guiders confidently help their clients to bridge this gap.

Who is this session for?

Money guidance practitioners in the third, community, and public benefit sectors–if you’re a volunteer or member of staff and talk to people about money in your role, this session is for people like you!

Anyone supporting others with money-related conversations working directly with customers or in a role that shapes service delivery such as health and social care, domestic abuse services, financial wellbeing, community roles, education, safeguarding, housing, and other frontline or advisory positions.

What to Expect

This is an interactive online training session. This may include polls, quizzes and breakout rooms, aimed at enhancing the learning experience for everyone – yourself, your fellow attendees and the host. Please ensure you show up fully focussed and ready to interact with the host and other attendees for the duration of this training session. It helps the host to see who they’re working with. To help with this, we encourage cameras on, where possible.
