Event Information
About this Event
Join WRAP and Fashion Roundtable to find out how you can futureproof your fashion or textile business against potential policy changes and how to ‘building back greener’ can benefit your business as well as our planet.
The UK has committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2045, with Rishi Sunak announcing mandatory climate disclosures for larger UK companies by 2025. The Resources & Waste Strategy for England also sets the direction of travel for a host of future policy and legislative changes for the UK fashion & textile sector which could include minimum eco-design standards to encourage resource efficiency, Extended Producer Responsibility and the ‘polluter pays’ principle and ‘eco-labelling’ to influence more sustainable customer purchasing behaviours.
During this 45 minute webinar, we will discuss:
• How the textile sector is changing
• What actions your business can take to prepare for potential new policies
• How showing leadership on climate action can help to futureproof your business
This session will also give insights into how WRAP’s industry-wide initiatives can provide an effective route for businesses to get a seat at the table with Government, to share insights on how new policies would best be implemented and shape the future of the industry. Wrap is delighted to be joined by Tamara Cincik from Fashion Roundtable, who will be sharing her insights in this area.
Whether you are early on in your sustainability journey, or ready to take a leadership role, this webinar will highlight why we need everyone on board to create a thriving textiles sector in the UK and how your business can be a part of a better, greener future for the industry.
