About the Course
Want to build and manage your own WordPress website, but don’t know where to start?
This hands-on, small group training is designed to guide you step by step, with plenty of personal support along the way.
Over the course of the day, you’ll:
- Understand WordPress – learn how WordPress works, and the roles of themes and plugins.
- Set up your brand look & feel – define your colours, fonts and global settings.
- Create your structure – map out your website, build menus, and set up easy navigation.
- Add content with confidence – use the WordPress block editor to design and build pages.
- Learn best practices – from SEO basics and accessibility to simple design principles that make your site shine.
Each participant gets their own pre-prepared development website, set up in advance with premium tools already installed:
- Astra Pro (theme)
- Gravity Forms (data capture & forms)
- Yoast SEO (search optimisation)
What’s Included
- 1 year of free hosting & maintenance (worth £390+VAT if purchased separately).
- Your own development site to practice on during the session.
- A small, supportive group (max. 5 participants).
- Expert guidance and feedback throughout the day.
What You’ll Need
- A working laptop you can bring with you.
- A domain name (if you don’t already have one, I can help you set this up).
- Your brand basics (if you have them) – e.g. logo, colour palette, fonts.
- Any text or images you’d like to start building into your site.

Pricing
£150 + VAT (£180 total per person)
This includes:
- Training day (4.5 hours in person)
- Your development site with premium plugins pre-installed
- 1 year of hosting & maintenance included (worth £39 + VAT per month)
If you choose to continue after the free year:
- Hosting + maintenance: £39 + VAT / month
- Hosting only: £17 + VAT / month
Lunch & Breaks
We’ll break for lunch from 12:30 – 1:00. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided – just bring your own lunch.
Booking
Spaces are limited to 5 participants per course, so early booking is recommended.
