About this event

PFHEA Yorkshire and Northeast Network Symposium - The Collaborative Edge: Building a PFHEA Community of Practice for Shared Educational Innovation

Principal Fellowship recognises leadership in higher education, but leadership can thrive most powerfully in collaboration. This keynote explores how as PFHEAs we can come together to form a Community of Practice (CoP) focused on interdisciplinary Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). With shared values, high-level expertise, and geographic proximity, this group has the unique opportunity to move from individual achievement to collective influence.

We’ll explore practical strategies for sustaining this CoP through a blend of in-person and online meetings, social media, and digital engagement tools. We will discuss models for collaborative SoTL projects ranging from shared pedagogical resources to joint research on sector-wide challenges. The keynote will also outline key success factors in collaborative leadership, including trust, reciprocity, and purposeful goals.

This session sets the stage for a post-keynote discussion where we will identify shared interests, define possible project areas, and begin shaping a collaborative agenda for the future.

This is a hybrid event, please sign up here to attend in-person.
