Building A Reading For Pleasure Culture


Teachers from partner primary schools are invited to attend this twilight session funded by the Tiverton Reads Together Project (TReaT). The session will be delivered by experienced practitioner and manager of the School Literacy Network, Dora Allen.

The aims of the session are:

  • To understand the current practices across school around reading for pleasure
  • To increase staff and pupil knowledge of great texts and authors
  • To increase community engagement with reading
  • To increase the number of shared texts in common and conversations about reading for pleasure
  • To identify the next steps in what to prioritise in the short and long term for continuing to build a love of reading.
