Building a Safeguarding Policy: Step-by-Step

Join us for this 90-minute lunch and learn session, designed to deliver practical insights in a relaxed and accessible way. These sessions focus on providing valuable information and tools to apply in your work, all while allowing you the flexibility to participate as you choose.

Whether you’re able to actively engage or simply listen in while enjoying your lunch, this session is tailored to suit your needs. While cameras and microphones are optional, you’ll still have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with others if you wish. Think of it as a chance to pause, reflect, and absorb new ideas - all without disrupting your day.

This session is designed to break down the process of creating or refining a safeguarding policy into clear, manageable steps. Whether you’re starting from scratch or improving an existing policy, this session will help you understand what’s required, why it matters, and how to make sure your policy is both effective and meaningful.

This session will guide you through:

• The essential components of a safeguarding policy and how to structure them.

• Key considerations when drafting or reviewing your policy.

• How to ensure your policy is practical, implementable, and understood across your organisation.

• The links between your policy, reporting procedures, and wider safeguarding and organisational responsibilities

• Signposting to procedures and documents that can be used to support the delivery of your policy

By the end of this session, you’ll have a clear roadmap for developing a safeguarding policy that both demonstrates your organisational values and your commitment to safeguarding. Ideal for anyone responsible for safeguarding policies in their organisation.
