Event description
Scottish Detainee Visitors' Annual General Meeting

About this event

Scottish Detainee Visitors are delighted to host our Annual General Meeting with our guest speaker Jonathan Ellis.

Jonathan leads Detention Forum a network of over 45 NGOs challenging the use of immigration detention in the UK. Previously, he led advocacy campaigns for the British Red Cross, Oxfam, the Refugee Council, and Action on Empty Homes. He has also stood twice as a Parliamentary candidate in the UK.

The full title of Jonathan's talk is:

“In the face of unprecedented challenges, the need to build a larger social movement for a humane and just immigration system has never been greater.”

There will be time for questions and discussion and Scottish Detainee Visitors' Annual General Meeting will follow Jonathan's contribution.
