Overview
Do you want to build a better & safer Brixton with your neighbours across generations? Do you think we keep each other safe? Join us!
Do you want to create a better, safer, more equal Brixton? Do you want to organise with your neighbours across different generations? Join 'Building A Village' - a network of Brixtonian of all ages who want to organise for a safer community.
Our meetings look at things such as:
- How can we become better community members and support each other in times of conflict?
- How can we create a community culture that celebrates young people?
- How can we encourage local businesses to engage in safety practices which don't demonise or target young people in the community?
- How can we ensure every community member knows their rights on the streets?
- What can we learn from other communities that are keeping each other safe?
We meet every last Thursday of the month to talk, learn, and take action together!
We have our meetings at The Liberation Centre, The Advocacy Academy's headquarters in Brixton, which is wheelchair accessible.
