When the Great Britain Women’s Hockey Team won Gold at the 2016 Olympic Games their coach at the time, Danny Kerry MBE, said of their performance throughout the games “It all sounds a bit clichéd, but it was the whole piece around values, visions and behaviours, and off the back of that they have driven a very high expectation of what their daily training environment looks like.” He emphasised that 'culture precedes performance' and the importance of common purpose. He encourages his players to consider scenarios and to work out for themselves how to 'find a way' in game situations. So for Danny, a culture and a style of leading through empowerment was key to his teams success.

Join us for our next LIBS Connect at the home of Lincoln City FC, Sincil Bank. We’ll be looking to the sporting industry for lessons and insight into what makes a winning culture and an impactful leader. Hosting the event will be Guy Richardson who has held prestigous roles with the British and Irish Lions and Scottish Rugby; special guests include Liam Scully CEO from Lincoln City FC, and Dr Hanya Pielichaty, Principal Lecturer, this LIBS Connect aims to deliver practical takeaways for you to implement in your business, alongside opportunities to network and connect.
