This practitoners' conference takes place every two years and is a must for professionals interested in or involved with supporting the education and wellbeing of Armed Forces families in Scotland.
The keynote speaker for the 2017 conference is Dr Suzanne Zeedyk.
Dr Suzanne Zeedyk is an honorary Fellow and Senior Lecturer within the School of Psychology at the University of Dundee (Scotland). In 2011, Suzanne stepped away from a full-time academic post to help individuals, groups and organisations understand everything science has discovered about the importance of emotional connection for human health and happiness. In the past five years, approximately 40,000 people have attended her speaking engagements and she reaches 50,000+ per week via social media. According to Suzanne “If we want a better world we have to better understand ourselves”.
A full conference programme will be available at the beginning of 2017. Register early to avoid disappointment.
Previous Conference Delegate Feedback
"For me, the value of the RCET Conference was the opportunity to come together with others from all over Scotland and further afield to share and promote good practice in meeting the needs of children and young people from Armed Forces families. I left the Conference feeling informed, inspired and very moved, particularly by the personal story shared by The Very Reverend John Chalmers on the day." 2015 Conference delegate
“This conference targets, engages and challenges those working with and supporting families; educational practitioners, education support agencies, military representatives, community organisations, third sector partners involved with or interested in the educational needs of Armed Forces Children in Scotland.” 2015 Conference delegate Robert Hair, Head Teacher, Kinloss Primary and Nursery School, Moray.
The Conference is free to attend and is hosted and organised by The Royal Caledonian Education Trust, Scotland's Armed Forces Children's Charity. For more information please visit www.rcet.org.uk
