For 40 of Newham’s 60 years Wenty’s has been at the heart of the evolving community making Newham a borough like no other and celebrating Newham’s wealth across the UK. Wenty’s intercultural work in the community and entrepreneurial spirit, is a testament to the borough and its welcoming attitude.
Throughout July and August 2025 , as part of Newham Heritage Month, Immediate Theatre will run a series of workshops with members of the community to document and celebrate Wenty’s as a unique Forest Gate institution, its wider influence on local communities and businesses from any background and the role its founder Wentworth Newland, played in the current UK-wide ‘Caribbean Food’ boom.
We would like to invite you to join us for a workshop about community and food.
