Event description

Description

Demonstration projects are an effective way to take innovation to full commercialisation.

With support of DG MARE, the NeSSIE (North Sea Solutions for Innovation in Corrosion for Energy) project was funded by the EU to tap into the existing knowledge of anti-corrosion technology / novel materials solutions to develop demonstration projects for offshore renewables in the North Sea.

The opportunity for anti-corrosion solutions in offshore renewable energy markets will provide global growth and job creation opportunities in coastal regions in the EU.

This conference will explore the learning from NeSSIE and bring together examples of demonstration projects in Scotland, the Basque Country and Belgium.

It will be held by partners from the countries of the NeSSIE project (Scotland, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Sweden) to share lessons learned in building demonstration projects. The Regions will also provide examples of other demonstration projects in their areas and their lessons learned.

The event will provide a forum for discussion on the challenges, opportunities and key learnings required to undertake demonstration projects with EU support.

Who should attend?

This event is aimed at anyone with an interest in developing further offshore renewable energy demonstration projects across the EU.
