Building Eddington tour of NWCD - 26th October 2016 (3.00pm)
Event Information
Description
The University of Cambridge is undertaking its largest single capital project in its 800-year history with the North West Cambridge Development. The development will be a new part of Cambridge where a community of 8500 people will live, work and play. The new local centre will be called Eddington.
Construction works began on the site in 2013, with completions of the first phase of development due in earnest throughout 2017. The University is hosting vehicle tours of the construction site where you can see behind the scenes of the development as the foundations are laid for the new community.
Places are limited due to the size of the vehicle. If your plans change and you can no longer attend the tour, please let us know so that it can be offered to another person.
FAQs
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
All visitors must be aged 18 and over. This is due to site safety restrictions.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Our ambition is to create a sustainable urban extension to Cambridge. We are promoting cycling, walking and public transport as the best way to access the site from the Cambridge area so please help us support this by using sustainable modes of transport where practicably possible. We are just 15 mins cycle ride from central Cambridge. If you need to drive we have some parking spaces available at Gravel Hill Farm and access for cars is by Madingley Rise / Madingley Road only.
