Description

Manchester Mind is proud to launch My Foundation – an independent evaluation

Over the last three years, we have been increasing organisational connections in order to improve mental health among young people in Manchester. This has included working more closely with schools and education providers, statutory health services, specialist charities and with young people themselves, as agents of their own recovery.

Young people have been involved in the development and delivery of this new approach. This has resulted in increasing staff capacity at Manchester Mind’s services for young people (YASP) and has promoted recovery and resilience in all areas of work at the organisation.

This is a chance for you to find out more about this way of working, to hear about interesting ideas that you are welcome to use, to learn more about opportunities to link up across multiple sectors and to find out about the outcomes achieved.

Who is this conference for?

This conference is for people who work in mental health, who work with groups of people at higher risk of developing mental health problems and those who work with young people.

The session will focus on the foundations of good service delivery, with an emphasis on the preferences and experiences of experts by experience. Speakers will talk about improving equalities, linking up with educational providers, the impact of peer support and lessons emerging from Manchester Mind’s recent evaluation of working with young people.

The conference will provide examples of frontline work, in addition to idea sharing around service design and user involvement, which can be borrowed and applied more widely, across specialist and general support services.

The afternoon will involve:
