Thu 23 February 2017, 15:00 – 16:00 GMT
All Univesity of Glasgow undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to attend this event, brought to you from the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) Employability Office!
With over 300 million users worldwide LinkedIn is one of the world's biggest professional networking platforms linking professionals across organisational sectors as various as think thanks and policy fora, international aid and development, PR and public affairs, and marketing and communications. Access to this network at an early stage can be a powerful tool for students looking to learn more about current debates in their future employment sectors, and who may wish to start building professional networks with their fellow students, academic mentors and future employers, but also provides an opportunity to articulate their unique value offering to potential employers across the globe.
This workshop, delivered by the College Employability Officer, will provide a detailed and practical guide to creating an effective LinkedIn profile drawing on real student profile examples and will explore how students can use this tool to learn about future employment sectors, to identify work experience and job opportunities, and to build professional networks which will serve them now and throughout their future careers.
