About this event
Following up on the previous webinar on Making a different use of NHS facilities for better health and community resilience, this session on 26th January 2022 will discuss the creation of new Health and Well-being Hubs.
After the creation of the Bromley by Bow Centre by its community over 35 years ago, a number of new health and well-being hubs have been developed with various degrees of ambition and success. It is the opinion of many experts that similar facilities and models of care need to be developed at scale, and eventually become the norm rather than the exception, but how can this be achieved?
While we previously discussed the transformation of existing facilities in the previous online session, this webinar will focus on new buildings and long-term projects, to help shift the model of care to a more integrated one for a holistic patient health.
Creating new hubs need to happen with the communities they will serve, and several steps are crucial. Drawing from concrete examples, and their experiences, speakers will talk about:
- How to build local networks and get to know the local communities
- Designing versatile spaces for multiple use from services and community activities
- Navigating the finances of a new integrated health and well-being centre
- Supporting a holistic model of health care
- Encouraging the development of social prescribing
- Creating a welcoming environment and making use of green spaces
This is an interactive webinar, and attendees are encouraged to come with questions and thoughts.
