Low Carbon Business Breakfast
Building Integrated Sustainability
7.45am - 10.00am, Tuesday 15th March 2016, Bath Innovation Centre
Embodied carbon in construction and future energy use is constantly in headlines. Our next Low Carbon Business Breakfast is exploring current developments within design and engineering to limit the impact our built environment is having on our natural environment
Through a mixture of case studies and practice evaluation, we take a look at how businesses can ensure residential and commercial development is future-proofed and providing best value in sustainability.
Rob Delius, Head of Sustainable Design at Stride Treglown
Sustainability Designed In: Rethinking the 21st Century Home
You can see it being built across the UK… the ubiquitous ‘anywhere’ house, designed and positioned without regard for orientation or location. And unlike the design of our workplaces, cars & technology which are constantly evolving and improving, the design of many of today’s homes has barely changed for centuries, with sustainability more of an add-on instead of being an integral part of the design. What should today’s sustainable homes be like?
Grant Stratton, Director of Integral Engineering Design
Embodied Structural Carbon
Grant will be presenting a Case Study on Embodied Structural Carbon, looking at Integral's work investigating various structural solutions and minimising the impact of the built environment through lifecycle analysis.
