This Symposium has been organised within the context of the university's aim to "build communities", both within the university itself and between the university and organisations and groups beyond.
Through exhibitions, presentations, discussion and networking, the event aims to develop mutually beneficial understandings and links between the university and the LGBT+ Staff Network, on one hand and, on the other hand, LGBT+ (and LGBT+ friendly) organisations and groups operating at a nation-wide or HE sector level, or within the local community.
It is hoped that that other networks and groups within the university will be able to identify the potential for developing similar understandings and links with other, relevant organisations and groups within and beyond the university.
