Description

Annual Conference 2017 - The Labour Party

This fringe event, featuring Shadow Housing Minister, Melanie Onn MP, will provide an opportunity for Labour Party delegates to debate solutions to the housing crisis with the key house building bodies, and explore how we can remove barriers to house builders, diversifying the house building sector in order to increase the delivery of new homes. Co-hosted with the Federation of Master Builders, the Home Builders Federation, and the National House Building Council, this event will discuss how we can improve the planning process, support SME house builders to re-enter the market, and how we can combat the skills shortage in order to ensure that the house building industry has enough skilled workers in the post-Brexit future.

Chair:

Jon Bernstein, New Statesman former Deputy Editor

Speakers:

Melanie Onn MP - Shadow Housing Minister

Brian Berry - Chief Executive, Federation of Master Builders

Lewis Sidnick - Director of Corporate Affairs, NHBC

John Slaughter - Director of External Affairs, Home Builders Federation
