Session Overview:This interactive webinar, led by Sister System, will explore the journey of creating and embedding a Youth Advisory Board (YAB). Drawing on our experience working with care-affected Black and Brown young women, we will share:
- Why a YAB is critical for amplifying youth voice in organisational governance and systemic change.
- The challenges we faced in recruitment, retention, safeguarding, and ensuring meaningful participation.
- Practical tools and approaches we used to build trust, support leadership development, and connect youth voice to decision-making.
- Reflections on what has worked well, what we would do differently, and how organisations can create safe, equitable spaces for young people to influence change.
Participants will leave with insights, strategies, and questions to consider when developing their own youth advisory structures.
