Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism in the Online Space

This course will explore the online space in the context of radicalisation into violent extremism. We will discuss the online world and explore the space in looking at how extremist groups and individuals look to exploit the space to promote their rhetoric and ideology. How platforms function and are used will also be explored. The session will also look at the topic of gamification and how this practice is also used by extremist groups to facilitate engagement. After overviewing this the session will look at what can be done to safeguard individuals from the risks identified, and also how the online space itself can increase resilience and be a protective tool in this space.

Please note that this event will be free, however will require attendees to provide enrolment information such as ID in order to be eligible to attend. This is due to the event being funded as an Adult Learning Course and this information is required to order to meet booking criteria.
