Who is it for?
This event is designed for anyone working in the educational sector (teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, governors, etc).
It is well known that stress in schools is a common and increasing problem.
Research by the ESP (Education Support Partnership) reported that 84% of teachers have suffered from mental-health problems at some point over the last two years and that the numbers of teachers who have had mental health problems has been rising for at least five years.
Other research by Unison also highlights the number of teacher support staff with poor mental health.
This event includes a series of workshops that aim to teach attendees:
- Tools to help them manage stress and find better balance
- Strategies to improve their resilience to change and pressure
- Techniques to reduce physical tension and the health issues this can create
Throughout the day you will attend a series of 3 workshops delivered by experienced and professional practitioners.

Workshop one: Mindfulness Lessons for Life by Jude Brown
Introduces you to mindfulness, its key benefits and guides you through some practical techniques to develop your sense of inner calm.
Jude is a qualified teacher and experience mindfulness practitioner.
Workshop two: Creating a Positive Mindset for Less Stress by Kate Young
Learn about the nature of stress, how the way you think can impact on stress and some practical ways in which you can reduce stress at work.
Kate is a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner and Life Coach specialising in helping people with stress and anxiety.
Workshop three: Yoga at Your Desk by Deborah Green
Learn some simple yoga poses/movements to help you ease away tightness in the neck, shoulders and back. Regain a freedom of movement, reduce stress and tension; and all of this can be done at your desk!
Deborah is a qualified yoga teacher with over 10 years experience.
