Resilience Workshop
The public sector reform agenda is meaning enormous change, disruption and transition across hundreds of organisations and affecting many thousands of people across the country. At this time it’s important to stay focused, deliver results and stay resilient (for yourself and your team). What do we really mean by resilience? Is it something anyone can develop? And how does resilience affect performance, wellbeing and happiness?
Personal resilience is arguably the most important resource for coping well during challenging times. During a one day masterclass we will be exploring skills that will increase the confidence of leaders in their ability to bounce back from the many pressures encountered in today’s workplace and daily life. In addition participants will focus on reviewing the leadership required to build effective performance and wellbeing within their teams, both within organisations and across localities and systems.
The last decade has seen the rise of behavioural economics and a growing interest in using it, together with positive psychology, to understand how behaviour influences everything from day-to-day life, to work, to how the economy functions. Today’s public sector leaders are being asked to function with fewer resources and continually find new ways to tackle challenges. With increasing demands on time, resources, and energy, it’s not surprising public sector employees are experiencing burnout at increasingly higher rates, with staff sickness and turnover rates also on the rise.
The huge challenge to leaders in public sector organisations is how to leverage high performance from staff without impacting on individual wellbeing.
During this session we will:
We will:
• Learn about the leadership characteristics which help build and sustain team resilience and thriving
• Explore the links between psychological and physical wellbeing, productivity and engagement
• Explore the concept of Engaging Leadership and undertake a personal leadership audit
• Develop leadership behaviours and examine how to create healthy followership
