Event description

Description

Over recent months a series of malicious communications including letters and packages have been addressed to various locations including religious establishments, mainly Mosques and/or Synagogues. Many of the letters have contained suspicious substances and associated threats which has triggered a response from emergency services; thankfully none of the substances have been harmful.

This seminar will look at how establishments can protect themselves in the event of receiving a suspicious package; we will share awareness around,

  • Initial actions to take
  • Remove, Remove, Remove guidance
  • Management of the people and premises prior to the arrival of emergency responders.

This event will be an ideal opportunity to network with other religious establishments and share experiences and existing emergency procedures in place.

Key Speakers will deliver short presentations around the safe management of suspect packages and initial actions to take.

There will also be presentations from the Counter Terrorism Unit along with the North West Ambulance Service.

If there any agencies who would like to book a stall at this event, please contact Nicola Barnes via barnesn@manchesterfire.gov.uk
