This is an online, 3 hour training session. Please note that a minimum of 6 attendees are required in order for this training to go ahead.

  • Do you want to know how to work collaboratively and be led by the community or those with real life experience and input?
  • Do you want to learn about how community-led change can enhance your work and projects?


What will the training include?

Join this training session if you are keen to learn more about how to engage and learn from your community when designing and planning a project, and how to collaborate with the people that are your best asset.

During the session, we will explore techniques such as Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), Design Led Thinking, Co-production and Total Place, as well as the benefits and practical considerations when designing your projects. This session will be interactive and involve space for questions and exploration regarding your projects and ideas in relation to community-led change. You will leave this session with a greater understanding about why community-led change is important, and the benefits of working together in this way. You will also learn key tools to help your community undertake research and engagement activities, and what to consider when planning a project that involves members of your community.

  • Approach 1 – Coproduction
  • Approach 2 – Total Place
  • Approach 3 – Design Led Thinking
  • Break
  • Putting into practice – two case studies to discuss and work through the benefits, challenges and questions.
