Being resilient is a key attribute for successful completion of a PhD. Within the workshop we will discuss several approaches and strategies to enable you to become more resilient including exploring thinking patterns, building a sense of competence, and coping strategies.

By the end of the workshop you will have:• An understanding of a model which will help you develop resilience.• Identified a number of actionable approaches to support your resilience within your PhD.

Presenter: Dr Robin Henderson

Robin is a higher education consultant with a strong track record in delivering leadership and management development, and in supporting change-management initiatives within research-intensive universities. He works with a wide spectrum of staff within HEIs, including academic staff (from PhD students to senior professors) and professional service staff, and has a particular interest in developing the next generation of university leaders. Prior to working as a consultant, he was an academic researcher with an international profile in the field of materials engineering.
