Building Sensors for Biological Research: An arduino Workshop

Join us for an immersive hands-on workshop and exploring the exciting world of physical computing and making sensors for research projects. Our Introductory workshop to physical computing session is ideal for beginners or anyone needing a refresher—get hands-on experience with Arduino and learn how to sense and interact with the environment using basic sensors and components.

Our Biosensor Prototyping session is self-led, here students are invited to experiment with Arduino-powered biosensors for your own projects! Bring your ideas and explore creative possibilities with support and guidance available throughout.

All equipment is provided, but please bring your own laptop. Don't miss out!

Meet your Instructor

Marta Ilacqua is an interaction designer and creative technologist whose practice explores the intersections of environmental anthropology and design. Her work remoulds cultural notions through storytelling and experimental technology, aiming to present alternative realities that strive away from the anthropocentric narrative.Marta is the ‘Interactive Media and Experience Design’ specialist technician with the Creative Technology Lab at the London College of Communication, UAL. Working across touchdesigner, physical computing and ardunio and projection mapping, her projects navigate live sensing and engagement with nature monitoring plants sensing capabilities.
