This is one of three trails exploring the use of decorative natural stone in the buildings of Birmingham City Centre. From the most modern of shopping centres to a rare surviving 19th century shopping arcade, we will embark on a journey all around the world and back into the depths of geological time. We will see how natural stone is woven into the story of Birmingham from the earliest times to the 21st century.
There are pdfs of the leaflets and a series of mobile friendly web pages for each of the trails. The web pages have maps and additional photos and can be found here: https://bcgs.info/pub/local-geology/building-stone-trails/
This is a tour for a small group and there is likely to be a waiting list. If you find you booked a ticket and can no longer attend, no problem, but please cancel your ticket on Eventbrite or email BHW coordinator irene.deboo@birminghammuseums.org.uk. We will then give your ticket to someone on the waiting list.
Meet by the Bull sculpture in Rotunda Square, Central Birmingham. Finish at the Great Western Arcade, Temple Row. Regrettably, this tour is not wheelchair accessible.
