Event description
A Webinar delivered by Jude Goddard as part of our "Looking after our people" Series for HR and OD Practitioners

About this event

**This event is open to London HPMA Academy members ONLY**

Team resilience involves us recognising that it is not just the responsibility of the individual to practice resilience, we also need to enable co-workers to practice resilience and to spot signs when others are flagging and maybe need help.

Few of us work entirely alone and so how our teams develop and grows is just as important as building our own resilience.

We need a resilient reframe away from individuals away from " I can shoulder to all" to : I can ask for help when I need it" "Resilient people work though issues with others" Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health Sept 2020, Louise Wedd.

This 3 hour workshop will look at:

  • What resilience means on an individual level and a team level.
  • Explore the stages of team development and where and when it may be harder to have team support for resilience
  • What type of culture helps us build a resilient team, and draw upon learning inside and outside of healthcare

We will focus on some of the latest research findings and focus on 4 Things Resilient Teams do together with examining the growing evidence that resilient teams are different from resilient people, and what we may choose to do about this as Senior HR Leaders and Managers in the NHS.

1. Belief in the task: that team members believe they can collectively complete the task together

2. Common mental model of teamwork: that team members have a mental model of the team, a team IMAGO

3. Ability to improvise: that team members are encouraged to develop new ways of handling adversity

4. Trust one another and feeling safe together: that resilience is enhanced when team members have a shared belief, that it is safe to take interpersonal risks

Target audience:

Senior workforce professionals and team leaders
