About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 15 minutes

Engineering is all about solving real-world problems, using Science, Maths and DT, in this exciting challenge, participants will take on the role of Civil Engineers.

In teams of six they will be tasked with creating a giant full-sized 3D shelter for the whole team to get into at the same time, using only newspaper and reusable cable ties, they will use a STIXX machine to transform paper into sturdy building rods. Working through every step of a real construction project – from design to build, use to demolition – they will need strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving and time management skills.

For those who finish early, the challenges continue with opportunities to innovate doors that open, additional compartments, and more.

A brilliant blend of brains, creativity and collaboration!

This workshop is strictly for ages 9–11 only.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
