Let’s build back better, together.

As the light at the end of the tunnel gets brighter and we enter the summer months, it’s the perfect time to bring together inspirational entrepreneurs from the tourism, food and retail sectors.

We’ve invited three business owners from across Wales, and some of the hardest hit sectors, to share their experiences and journeys with you. From starting a business with next to nothing, to overcoming one of their most challenging years to date.

Collaboration is a key theme for this conference, as we chat to business-people who have adapted, overcome and utilised their ecosystems to build capacity and resilience.

So come along, be part of the discussion, feel inspired and learn from their experiences.

About the speakers

Claire Copeman, Co-Founder – Adventure Tours UK

With 18 years’ experience working in some of the North West’s most respected creative and digital agencies, Claire put that experience to a different purpose, setting up Adventure Tours UK in Denbighshire to attract international travellers to Wales for multi-day stays. Since Covid-19, she has reworked the business model to focus on bringing in domestic tourists to the ‘adventurer's playground’ with small group sustainable adventure tours and tailor-made active holidays.

Kelly Davies, Co-Founder, The Goodwash Company

Kelly and business partner, Mandy Powell, set up The Goodwash Company as a luxury Welsh brand with a humble social conscience. They created a brand that would look good in the finest of washrooms from Port Talbot to New York, feel good on the most sensitive of skin and fur whilst doing good by addressing some of the social issues within local communities.

Goodwash has seen unprecedented growth during Covid-19, but also brought supply and logistical challenges that they navigated and embraced in order to thrive. They also set up the Good Hub in Barry to bring together socially-minded businesspeople for shared success.

Scott Davies, Managing Director – Hilltop Honey

Going from an out-of-work bricklayer to one of Wales’ most notable entrepreneurs to thrive during the pandemic, Scott established the Newtown-based company in 2011 after being laid off due to a back injury and is now turning over £11 million a year.

Stemming from a love of honey, Scott overcame significant challenges as a young father with a £5,000 overdraft and limited job prospects, selling single jars to neighbours and is now supplying the UK’s biggest supermarkets at the helm of the 26th fastest-growing company in the UK.
