Come and plant a pot full with pollinator-friendly bulbs, and then take it home!
This event is free of charge, and is aimed at adding a little "pollinator buzz stop" to many places in Finchley.
We will bring all the materials with us including pots, but if you have two medium empty pots we would definitely appreciate it if you could bring it with you on the day.
The event takes place outdoors so please wear a rain coat, we will go ahead even if it rains and use the pollytunnel.
It takes about 60 minutes to plant your bulbs in the pot so please try to come on time.
The workshop will be led by Brigid and Les, the founders of the Community Plot @ Whetstone Allotments.
You will plant TWO pots each! One is a "lasagne" and the other is a "cake" :)
The Community Plot usually runs free sessions for people who need to spend time in nature, growing food and sharing produce to reduce stress and the impact of cost of living crisis. Everyone from the community is invited to join this session.
Whetstone Stray Allotments, N12 7DX, is on Holden Road, at the junction with Woodside Lane. The nearest tube station is Woodside Park (about ten minutes walk). Leave the station by the Holden Road exit and turn right onto Holden Road. Go past Holden Heights flats, then look out for the double gates to the Allotment site (on the opposite side of the road to the station). If the gates are locked, there is a pedestrian gate on the left hand side which is always open. If you see Finchley Catholic School, you have gone too far!
