Lleoliad: Prif Adeilad y Brifysgol, Ystafell Gynhadledd 3 Y Teras

Hyfforddiant ar effaith i ymchwilwyr ar ddechrau eu gyrfa

Mae'n bleser gan Gyfrif Cyflymu Effaith ESRC Prifysgol Bangor gynnig y digwyddiad hyfforddi undydd hwn i ymchwilwyr ar ddechrau eu gyrfa.  Mae’r diwrnod hyfforddi hwn yn cael ei gyllido'n hael gan y Cyngor Ymchwil Economaidd a Chymdeithasol (ESRC).

Mae cyrff cyllido ymchwil yn awr yn disgwyl gweld ymchwil ragorol sy'n rhagweld yr hyn mae defnyddwyr ei angen a chyflawni hynny.  Mae gallu cynhyrchu effaith a dangos hynny, a chynnwys effaith yn amlwg mewn cynlluniau ymchwil, felly wedi dod yn set sgiliau allweddol i ymchwilwyr.  Mae angen i ymchwilwyr ar ddechrau eu gyrfa (ECRs) wybod sut i gynhyrchu effaith yn fuan yn ystod eu gwaith cynllunio ymchwil.

Erbyn diwedd y gweithdai, bydd yr ECRs a ddaeth iddynt yn gallu gwneud y canlynol:

  • Dangos dealltwriaeth glir o'r hyn mae effaith yn ei olygu a sut y gall edrych yn eu meysydd hwy.

  • Pennu amcanion effaith bersonol ar gyfer project ymchwil benodol.

  • Llunio strategaethau i gyflawni'r amcanion hyn.

  • Dod o'r gweithdai gydag o leiaf dri phwynt gweithredu ar gyfer cynhyrchu effaith yn deillio o'u hymchwil.

Ar gyfer pwy mae'r gweithdai?

Ymchwilwyr ar ddechrau eu gyrfa o unrhyw ddisgyblaeth sy'n cyflawni - neu'n bwriadu cyflawni - ymchwil sydd â photensial i effeithio ar gymdeithas neu'r economi. I ddiben y gweithdai hyn, gellir diffinio ECRs i gynnwys darlithwyr ar unrhyw fath o gontract sy'n gwneud ymchwil am y tro cyntaf: ymchwilwyr ôl-ddoethurol; myfyrwyr sy'n gwneud PhD ar hyn o bryd neu sydd newydd orffen; a myfyrwyr Meistr sy'n ystyried gwneud PhD neu yrfa yn y byd academaidd.

Mae croeso i Hyrwyddwyr Effaith Colegau Prifysgol Bangor a CRSOs hefyd ddod i'r gweithdai er mwyn rhaeadru gwybodaeth i ddarpar genedlaethau o ECRs.

Bydd pynciau allweddol yn cynnwys:

  • Beth yw effaith?  Beth mae’n ei olygu mewn gwahanol ddisgyblaethau?
  • Pam mae effaith yn bwysig?
  • Cynllunio effaith ar gyfer eich maes ymchwil eich hun.
  • Ymgorffori effaith mewn cynllun ymchwil.

Bangor University Impact Training for Early-Career Researchers

Date:
Thursday, 4th May 2017

Location: Main University Building, Cledwyn (Teras) Conference Room 3

Time: 12.30  – 15.30pm

Early career researcher impact training

Bangor University’s ESRC Impact Acceleration Account is pleased to offer this training event for early-career researchers, generously funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

Research funding bodies now expect to see excellent research that both anticipates and delivers what end users require. The ability to generate and demonstrate impact, and to build impact into research plans has therefore become a key skill set for researchers. Early-career researchers (ECRs) need to know how to generate impact at the early stage of their research design.

By the end of the workshop, ECR delegates will be able to:

  • Show a clear understanding of what impact means, and what it may look like in their own areas.

  • Have set personal impact generation goals for a specific research project.

  • Have devised strategies to achieve these goals.

  • Come away with at least three action points for generating impact out of their research.

Who is the workshop for?

Early Career Researchers from any discipline who are engaged in, or planning to engage in, research that has the potential to impact on society or the economy. For the purpose of this workshop, ECRs can be defined to include lecturers on any type of contract undertaking research for the first time; post-doctoral researchers; current or recently completed PhD students; and Master’s students who are considering undertaking a PhD or a career in academia.

Bangor University College Impact Champions are also welcome to attend to enable the cascading of information to future generations of ECRs.

Key topics will include:

  • What is impact? What does it mean in different disciplines?
  • Why does impact matter?
  • Planning impact for your own research area.
  • Incorporating impact into research design.
