Breakfast session

7 am refreshments and networking in Bentley's Restaurant on the first floor of the Golf Club, with the event starting promptly at 7.30 am and finishing around 9 am

Our speaker, Jo Brown from DignityWorks, will start this session by sharing the results from her recent research on actual grievance data relating to workplace bullying.

Jo will present her risk-based approach for prevention that HR professionals can take back and use in their organisations, as well as discussing an exciting new intervention strategy for coaching abrasive leaders.  There will be plenty of time at the end for a plenary question and answer session, with Jo also available afterwards to take specific questions from the audience on a one-to-one basis.

As a result of attending you will:

  • Gain insight into a risk-based approach to the prevention of workplace bullying
  • Learn about intervention strategies for coaching abrasive leaders

Our speaker

Jo Brown, Director of DignityWorks, a specialist consultancy with a passionate team of people providing prevention, intervention and resolution of bullying and harassment at work.  Jo is a regular speaker at local CIPD networking events and conferences and works as a consultant, trainer, coach and mediator.

Jo has been involved in hundreds of cases including some of the most high profile in the UK. She has worked with all levels of staff in private, public and third sector organisations. Jo experienced first hand the lack of understanding and how not to deal with bullying while working on secondment in New York.

Those experiences started a fascinating journey for Jo in her quest to change the status quo. She has trained with the Workplace Bullying Institute in the USA; in Strategic Intervention Coaching and Coaching Abrasive Leaders, as well as becoming an accredited mediator.  Jo is currently undertaking a Doctorate and writing her book ‘Beyond Them & Us: Solving the Workplace Bullying Crisis’.
