Bun Run - the original bakery running tour events by food writer @emmahitsthespot - is celebrating the launch of new pastry magazine CRUMB, with a 10km bakery tour followed by NYC-inspired brunch party at London’s hottest new food destination, Corner Shop, 180 The Thames.
We’ll meet at Corner Shop and head off following a trail of crumbs around the city… from the provenance-focused Toklas Bakery, to La Maritxu Soho (home to London’s best basque cheesecake). Then we’ll visit French-patisserie inspired Miel Bakery and Japanese artisan bakery Happy Sky Bakery, before returning to Corner Shop and the newly opened Populations Bakery. At each bakery, you’ll get to learn more about the story behind its success, and have exclusive access to pre-orders (read: no lengthy queues, no early sell outs!)
Back at Corner Shop, we’ll kick back and relax with a NYC inspired brunch and magazine launch celebration overlooking the working bakery, hosted by Emma and CRUMB founder Emily Kim.
On the table? Think Oat Griddle Cakes served with Estate Dairy Yoghurt and seasonal fruit from La Sovrana, or smashed sausage patties, butter and syrup, plus freshly squeezed juices and Assembly Coffee. And of course, all the pastries and cakes acquired on our run!
You’ll be the first in the UK to get your hands on copies of CRUMB, hear Emma read an extract from her article in print, plus each participant will receive a tote containing exclusive goodies to take home and a discount to use in Corner Shop.
Tickets include a copy of the magazine, post-run brunch and goodie bag (plus photos from our wonderful event photographer!). Please note and items from each bakery will be available to pre-order and charged separately. Pre-order menus will be circulated on Friday 3rd October and the cut-off for orders is Monday 6th October.
